10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Portland Community College, Cascade Campus
Join GPSEN and our co-host Portland Community College for our
2019 Sustainability Symposium: “Building Bridges to Sustainability.”
There has never been a more important time to learn, find hope, connect with each other, and discover new ways to make a difference as we advance sustainability initiatives in our greater Portland region and beyond. Highlighting cutting-edge academic and community research and sustainability projects, we will focus on collaboration, diversity, innovative problem-solving, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Join our opening keynote speaker, Judy BlueHorse Skelton, Assistant Professor, Indigenous Nations Studies Program, Portland State University.
Opening plenary panel presented by leaders of the Portland Clean Energy Fund, including the Coalition of Communities of Color (CCC), NAACP, PDX350, and Verde.
Celebrate International Women’s Day with closing keynote speaker, Suvira Chaturvedi, UN Adviser in international development, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
We start out the day with a pre-conference Student Summit, hosted by GPSEN’s College Network. This is followed by a great slate of speakers, including community, faculty, and student leader presentations, workshops, posters, art, tabling, an award ceremony, and a networking reception and celebration.
Learn more about our Symposium and the history of GPSEN, in Joe Culhane’s PCC Sustain Me! podcast.
We look forward to sharing the day with you. Remember, we are all in this together!
