Action on OceanPublications
The ocean is life – every other breath of oxygen we take comes from the ocean. The ocean sustains life – 80% of biodiversity on this planet is found in the ocean. The ocean plays a vital role in the hydrological cycle and climate system (indeed, the ocean absorbs over 90% of the excess heat generated by global warming) and provides healthy food for billions of our species.
In connection with the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, herewith a Habitat-Climate-Environment Working Group article on:
“Action on Ocean”
The Habitat-Climate-Environment Working Group is an autonomous civil society initiative that works in the critical space where human settlements and climate and environment interact, and is dedicated to the twin ethical imperatives of sustainable development, which are to eradicate poverty in all its forms and dimensions and to live in harmony with Nature.
