GPSEN, who are we?

GPSEN, who are we?

GPSEN, who are we?
We are explorers,
minimalists
travelers near and far,
diverse humans
differing in few base pairs
few proteins,
but,
driven by common core
of a double helix
bonded by
curiosity,
passion to learn
and
to share
because we care.
We are doers,
movers
go-getters
competing to with
the self, to better the self:),
People aware of
self-respect
and expect
respect
for all,
a baseline
for sustaining
nurturing relationships
with each other,
and the environment.
We empathize,
hold hands and hearts,
and lift
others,
(and therefore ourselves)
with empathy in our work.
We try
yes, we do,
to practice what we expect
for the future.
As minimalists
bikers, recyclers
hikers, writers
teachers, professors
farmers, business planners
administrators and
volunteers and much
much more.
So who are we?
the GPSEN people-
we are….
good ol’ doers
starting one step at a time
to be the change
we want
for the world,
starting with
ourselves,
working for
change,
inside and out,
for ourselves,
our streets
our communities
right here in Portland,
and across,
longitudes, latitudes
of our Earth.
