Thanks to the generous support of PCC’s Green Initiative Fund, two ecopsychologists, Kathy Stanley and Rebecca Lexa, have created a powerful new training for our community.

In these times of accelerating change and challenges where we are bombarded with negative news that numbs and overwhelms the spirit, how can we build hope and resilience? How do we build stronger internal and external supports for sustainability personally and for our communities? How do we hold hope for our planet? This one-day training provides practical strategies and tools for cultivating hope and resilience from an ecopsychology perspective. The training, with three sections of focus: Personal, Community and Planetary, will consist of a combination of short lecture and group activities giving participants resources that they will be able to use in their own communities.

Participants will receive:

  • Methods for self-care that are crucial to resilience and psychological well-being.
  • Fun community exercises designed to strengthen connection, empathy and resilience.
  • Strategies for building positive visions for a flourishing planetary future.

25 students from higher education institutions around the region will have the opportunity to be a part of this pilot project, gaining the knowledge, inspiration, and skills to become change agents in their communities.

Free for PCC students; $15 for non-PCC students.  Funds cover meals.  Course materials provided for all participants.
Note that registration is now full.
We will maintain a wait list for those who are interested.
