Alfredo Gonzalez, City of Portland
Alfredo is part of the solid waste and recycling team at the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability in Portland, Oregon. He coordinates the expansion of the Public Trash Program, taking in consideration equity, and the inclusion of diverse communities in the expansion process. Prior to joining BPS he served as Bilingual Community Engagement Associate at Cogan Owens Greene, a Portland based urban planning firm, where he specialized in community engagement with the Latino/Hispanic communities living in Oregon.
His experience also includes organizing regional campaigns in the Pacific Northwest to impact investment policies of university foundations for the consideration of environmental, social, and economic risks. Originally from Cusco, Peru, Alfredo is an Environmental Science graduate from Portland State University, where he served as Sustainability Affairs Director as part of the student government.
